The Democratic Party of Los Alamos County will hold it’s monthly meeting tonight.
In addition to a brief business meeting, Los Alamos School Board Members Andrea Cunningham and Bill Hargraves will discuss Los Alamos Public Schools Referendum (House Bill 33).
All registered voters in Los Alamos County should have received their mail in ballot last week. This is an important election for children and community – make sure your voice is heard.

We are entering another legislative session and at least one gun control bill will be introduced. Such bills will treat the symptoms, gun violence, rather than the diseases. Gun violence is driven by deeper issues, namely our failed wars on drugs and poverty and our addiction to a culture of violence.

Captured drug lord Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman-Loera
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) issued the following statement today regarding the capture of Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman-Loera. El Chapo, 57, is a Mexican drug lord who heads the Sinaloa Cartel, a criminal organization named after the Mexican Pacific coast state of Sinaloa where it was formed. He has been on the lam since his escape in July through a tunnel from a prison in Mexico.
