A crowd gathers Thursday night at Fuller Lodge to provide input on renaming a segment of the Pueblo Canyon Rim Trail as the Jim Billen Trail. Billen passed away April 14, 2018. Here, a committee of citizens, business owners and boards and commissions members hear a presentation by resident Irene Powell. A citizen petition requested the trail be named in Billen’s honor due to his efforts to build this segment of the trail over a six-year period. The committee unanimously voted to recommend Los Alamos County Council approve the name change. Council will consider the board’s recommendation during its May 7 meeting.
