Pub Crawl Through Downtown Los Alamos June 1

HILL STOMPERS News:

The Hill Stompers Band will lead a family-friendly pub crawl through downtown Los Alamos Thursday, June 1. Jeff Favorite, leader of the Hill Stompers, says that this is, as far as he knows, the first-ever Los Alamos pub crawl to be led by a live band.

“People ask me, ‘What, you’re going to both bars?,’” Favorite said. “But there are actually seven or eight bars downtown now.”

The Hill Stompers Band is known for crazy antics, fun performances, and exciting music in Los Alamos and Santa Fe (as well as Durango and Telluride, Colo.). The band has led a Mardi Gras Pub Crawl around the Plaza area of Santa Fe for 17 years. The band has led informal pub crawls down the main streets of Durango and Telluride for many years as well. These events feature marching band music in the streets and other unexpected venues.

Favorite said that he is excited that Los Alamos is able to host an event such as a musical pub crawl. He said that the pubs give the event a focus, but the pub crawl is family friendly. “The primary purpose of the Hill Stompers Band is music education,” he said. “We want everyone, especially kids, to see how much fun it is to play music. The venues are all open to minors.”

The schedule for the June 1 pub crawl is:

  • Pajarito Brewpub and Grill at 5:30 p.m.;
  • Smith’s Marketplace at 6:15 p.m.;
  • Unquarked (the Wine Room) at 7:20 p.m.; and
  • Bathtub Row Brewing Co-Op at 9:10 p.m.

There is no registration required and the event is free and open to the public.
