PSAT Testing Scheduled for Oct. 16

LAHS News:

Los Alamos High School will administer the PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test) 7:45-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16.

In accordance with the New Mexico Public Education Department mandate, all sophomores attending Los Alamos High School are required to take this test. It is optional for juniors.

The PSAT/NMSQT measures verbal, math and writing aptitude, and is recommended for juniors who will be taking the SAT later in the year.

In addition, it is the National Merit Scholarship qualifier when taken in the junior year and is also used to select minority students for several recognition and scholarship programs.

The PSAT is free for sophomores.  The cost of the PSAT for juniors and home schooled students is $20 if paid by Friday, Sept. 20.

School will not be in session at Los Alamos High School on Oct. 16 because of the PSAT and Senior Conferences.
