NMCD News:

ANTHONY – The New Mexico Corrections Department’s water drive to help flood victims has had residents dropping off hundreds of cases of water for its statewide neighbors. Probationers and Parolees in Anthony, N.M. got together and donated 300 cases of water as part of a creative community service project.

“We say it all the time, change someone’s heart and we can not only better assure they won’t hurt others but they will also become productive members of our community, who give back,” said N.M. Corrections Dept. Secretary Gregg Marcantel. “This creative community service project is an example of how we strive to make sure our offenders are giving back in a way that truly matters.”

NMCD’s water drive continues through Friday. Nearly 1,000 cases have been donated.
