Should we look out for ourselves, be independent, and meet our own needs? This Sunday, join Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church for a free community dinner at 5:15 p.m., followed at 6:07 p.m. with the service (this Sunday and EVERY second and fourth Sunday) and a live praise-and-worship band!
Mother Alicia Pope says that “we are constantly bombarded with television messages that declare that true happiness comes from serving ourselves. Yet the more self-absorbed we become, the more depressed, empty, frustrated, hopeless and lonely we feel. I really want to share a different message, about self-sacrifice and denying ourselves to be truly fulfilled—the message that Jesus Himself gave us.”
This week we’ll define pride and self-absorption. We’ll discover how we were never made by God to be self-absorbed and that true happiness comes from denying ourselves.
EVERYBODY is welcome to come help rock the house of God. We’ll have great music, food, prayer and praise, so please–come join us!
