COUNTY News:
Los Alamos County Clerk Sharon Stover has announced that poll workers are at the Municipal Building to assist anyone wishing to vote today for the school board and UNM-LA Advisory Board elections.
Stover said the polls will remain open until at least noon today, at which time the weather situation will be assessed and an announcement made to the public.
Turnout so far in this election has been light, she said, adding that just 239 people had voted as of Thursday compared to a total of 421 in the 2011 school board election.
This election’s biggest day was Thursday when 50 people voted, she said. Today is the final day to vote before Election Day, Tuesday, Feb. 3, when the polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Municipal Building and White Rock Fire Station 3 Vote Centers.
Beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday, election results will stream live from the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building.
