LAPD News:
Traffic accidents are occurring in and around Los Alamos County as road conditions are dangerous due to snow and ice from the storm.
“I urge motorists to stay off the roads or proceed with extreme caution if they must drive,” Los Alamos Police Chief Dino Sgambellone said.
Commander Oliver Morris told the Los Alamos Daily Post that so far there have been three reported crashes including a rollover on the Main Hill Road. Three people involved in that accident were transported by the Los Alamos Fire Department to Los Alamos Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, he said.
The Main Hill Road was closed for a short period of time to treat the injured and clear the scene. Morris explained that this accident occurred across the line into Santa Fe County so a Santa Fe County Sheriff’s deputy responded and LAPD officers assisted with the traffic closure.
“All roads are open as of now and no crashes are blocking any travel lanes coming in and out of Los Alamos,” Morris said.
