LAPD News:

Local police issued a news release a short while ago detailing this afternoon’s arrest of 41-year-old Los Alamos Urologist Pavel V. Mourachov:

“On May 22, 2013 at approximately 2:15 p.m., officers of the Los Alamos Police Department affected the arrest of Pavel V. Mourachov in the south parking lot of the Los Alamos Medical Center at 3917 West Road.

“Mourachov was arrested on two separate warrants for charges of two counts of aggravated assault against a household member with a deadly weapon, extreme cruelty to animals and harassment.”

More details on these charges to follow here in about an hour.

Last year, Mourachov was arrested and charged with assault on a peace officer, DWI and resisting/evading/obstructing officers during his arrest.

A call from a family member reporting that Mourachov may be suicidal came into police dispatch April 4, 2012. Dispatch advised responding officers at the time that weapons were reported to be Mourachov’s home at 390 El Conejo, that Mourachov had threatened to shoot police if they showed up and that he had taken medication.

Police transported Mourachov to LAMC for emergency mental health evaluation and care following that incident.
