Plein Air Painting Throughout Jemez April 28-May 5

Keep your eyes open if you’re in the Jemez Spring area from April 28 -May 5.
 
There will be 60 Plein Air artists from the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico organization, exploring and painting throughout the area.
 
Plein air painting is simply painting outdoors, although painting in the open air is anything but simple. After choosing a view, a plein air artist needs the ability to focus intensely, racing to capture the scene on paper or canvas before the advancing sun entirely changes the look of shadows and the color of the landscape and buildings.
 
If you’re interested in knowing more about the art of plein air painting, you can look for artists around the Ojito Wilderness, Valles Caldera, SanAntonio Canyon, the town of Jemez Springs and San Isidro. Feel free to stop and visit and see an artist in action!

The accomplishments for these artists and their week of painting In the Jemez Springs Area, will be showcased at the Jemez Spring fine Art Gallery. Hope you can visit our working artists during the PAPNM Spring Paint out and show.
