Looking for a way to reduce your tax liability? Donate to a non-profit before the end of the year. Specifically, please consider donating to LA Cares, the food pantry for Los Alamos County.

Join us in making a difference!

Why LA Cares?

  • 100% of your donation stays within Los Alamos County
  • We are 100% staffed by volunteers
  • We are funded 100% by donations from individuals, churches, organizations and companies
  • 96% of our funds go directly to client support (4% overhead: insurance, printing, etc.)

About LA Cares

Our monthly food distribution provides shelf stable items (donated through food drives).  In addition, your donated funds provide: meat, fruit, vegetables, bread, eggs, personal care items, school snacks for kids, dog and cat food, diapers, and dietary restricted foods like low-salt, low-sugar and gluten free for those clients who need it. We provide food for over 100 households in Los Alamos and White Rock every month.

Your donation may also help to keep the lights and heat on for someone who is struggling with monthly payments. Or, keep a roof over their heads in the form of rent assistance. In the first 9 months of 2024 we helped 126 families (an increase over 2023 with 128 for the entire year.)

The need is increasing … we need you! Your contributions go directly to those who need it the most.

How to donate:

We appreciate all donations. Please consider making your donation recurring, so that it will be automatic each month. If you already support LA cares, thank you very much!!

Bottom line: We need your support. Many families in Los Alamos County need your support. With increasing prices of food, rent and utilities, many families are finding themselves short each month. With the food provided by LA Cares, budgets can be stretched just a bit more, so families can breathe a little easier.

Our mission is to prevent homelessness in Los Alamos County and by supporting families in these ways, you can help make it happen. Thank you!
