Pipe Bursts At White Rock Library … Books Are Spared

Emergency personnel respond to the scene of a burst water pipe Saturday inside the White Rock Branch Library on Sherwood Boulevard. A library spokesperson told the Los Alamos Daily Post that, fortunately, the frozen pipe burst at midday rather than in the middle of the night, and the damage was contained to the restrooms and a storage closet … all of the books were spared. The library was closed to the public Saturday afternoon to allow workers room to repair the pipe and clear away soggy debris before reopening today. Photo by Bonnie J. Gordon/ladailypost.com
