LANL News:

“Pinocchio Reanimated!,” featuring a remake of a classic exhibit from the Bradbury Science Museum, takes center stage 5-8 p.m., Friday (July 12) at the museum downtown.

“Pinocchio Reanimated!” is the next Downtown Friday Night event at the Bradbury Science Museum and is free and open to all ages.

Created and donated by Ian Aeby, Pinocchio 2.0 is a complex network of sensors and mechanics that uses ping pong balls to simulate what happens to neutrons in a chain reaction. Aeby will be at the event to answer questions about Pinocchio 2.0 and explain what inspired him to remake the simulator. Laboratory retiree and weapons engineer Glen McDuff also will attend and explain the science behind the reaction of  the Pinocchio 2.0 simulation.

Free popcorn will be served, courtesy of Metzger’s “Do It Best” Hardware. Photography will be allowed at the event.

The Bradbury Science Museum partners with Fuller Lodge Art Center, the Los Alamos Historical Museum and Los Alamos County among others in the Downtown Friday Night program. More information is on the Bradbury Science Museum website.
