The Picuris Pueblo announces the grand opening of the Picuris Bike Park at 61 Pueblo Vw Road in Peñasco. No other park in the southwest offers this combination of features and scale.
Gates to the park open at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 19, followed by the ribbon cutting at 10 a.m., with local dignitaries and tribal leadership.
Riders of all abilities are welcome to compete in the Jump Jam and various competitions. There will be cash prizes. Celebration festivities include food, vendors, raffles, and live music.
Project Highlights
- $500,000 Outdoor Recreation Trails+ Grant: This major investment funded the park’s final phase, completing the Pueblo’s All-Wheel Park vision.
- World-Class Facilities: The park features a World Championship Certified pump track, a skate park, an Olympic trampoline zone, and a bike park with intermediate-to-pro lines, massive jumps, and drops.
- Community Legacy: The Pueblo set out to build “the gnarliest bike park in the southwest”—a lasting resource to keep youth engaged and to attract international attention.
- Future Operations: Details on post-opening operations (fee structures, hours) are still being finalized.
Non-tribal residents: $10 Entry into the park – proceeds benefit Picuris Pueblo Boys & Girls Club.
