LA CREATIVE DISTRICT News:

New Zealand, photography, travel … local artist and Los Alamos County Visual Information Specialist Leslie Bucklin will be featured during the Art on Tap series at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6 at UnQuarked, The Wine Room at 145 Central Park Square.

Bucklin will share details from her grand 21-day photography adventure touring New Zealand on a tiny ($3,000 per person) budget! This talk will give you practical information and images that will leave you dreaming of travel and inspired by the art of photography.

“Every place we visited was magical, the food was amazing, the people were kind and welcoming, and the experiences always left us wanting more,” Bucklin said. “To me, the definition of a successful trip is a lingering desire to go back, and I can’t help but find myself thinking of what I would like to do next time I go.”

The On Tap series begins each evening with an informal 10-15 minute lecture followed by a lively group discussion. All ages are welcome! On Tap is a way for people to get out and about in the community, learn something new, and meet people with similar interests. The series is hosted twice a month at UnQuarked, The White Room and the discussions are supported by Bradbury Science Museum, Los Alamos Arts Council, Los Alamos Historical Society and The Nature Center.
