Pets Of The Week: Lensky And Shadow

A hopeless romantic with a heart as big as his ginormous ears, Lensky is both poet and playmate. Named for a character in the Santa Fe Opera’s production of Eugene Onegin, he’s earnest, loyal, and full of youthful passion. This little Lensky may not write sonnets, but he’ll happily follow you everywhere, gaze at you like you’re the star of the show, and make every day feel like an encore. He’s available for adoption by appointment at our Ojo Santa Fe Puppy Patch – apply on our website! Española Humane is open to walk-in adopters 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, at 108 Hamm Parkway in Española. Visit www.espanolahumane.org. Courtesy/EH

We have yet to take a photo of Shadow where his mouth is actually closed. Every picture is mid-meow. The man has thoughts. Behind the nonstop commentary is a ridiculously sweet 4-year-old tuxedo cat who loves gentle pets, cozy naps, and keeping his humans company. He arrived with an ear injury, but thanks to our incredible medical team, he’s all healed up and ready for his standing ovation—a forever home.

He’s lived with dogs before (slow introductions, as always), and we’re still getting his official review of other cats. If your house feels just a little too quiet, Shadow is prepared to fix that. Whether he’s asking for dinner, discussing the weather, or simply narrating his day, this tuxedo gentleman is ready to become your favorite tiny coworker in formalwear.
