At 2 years old and 53 pounds, he’s the perfect-aged, perfect-sized adventure buddy wrapped up in the most kissable pittie noggin you’ve ever seen. Echo is built for sunshine: he’d happily spend the day sniffing every blade of grass, joining you on walks, exploring the backyard, or tagging along on whatever adventure you’ve dreamed up. Then, when the day is done, he’ll park that irresistible face right next to you to catch up on your favorite show or book.

Nemo’s first adventure almost became his last. This tiny orange kitten was swept away by a rushing acequia and pulled under the water. When a Good Samaritan spotted him, Nemo was at the bottom of the canal and not breathing—but without hesitation, he jumped in and brought him back.
At Española Humane, our team refused to give up. We cleared the water from his tiny lungs, rushed him onto oxygen, and then a staff member took him home to foster, spending sleepless nights fighting for every little breath.
And Nemo fought right back. Today, this once lifeless little kitten is a playful, purring, orange ball of curiosity who loves exploring, making mischief, and reminding everyone that miracles sometimes come with whiskers.
Nemo has already survived the impossible. Now he’s looking for the easy part: a forever family who will love him for the rest of his nine lives.
