Xena has been at the shelter long enough that this is now her second time being featured as Pet of the Week. She’s really hoping that this will finally be the time that she gets adopted.
Xena is a spayed female orange tabby, surrendered for expressing her dislike for sharing her family with other cats.
She enjoys being petted and would prefer to do without the presence of children, but could probably learn to live with other felines if given time to adjust. Shelter staff and volunteers think that she can probably rapidly deal with any “annoying” canines in the household. too.
The Los Alamos Animal Shelter, 226 East Road, 505.662.8179, has a great selection of adoptable pets – see the Petfinder website for photos here. For information about volunteering, adopting and donating, and learning more about special needs animals and cats and dogs in foster care, visit www.lafos.org. All adoptable pets are micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Shelter Hours: Noon-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekends.
