Shaaze is a beautiful, long-haired female Maine Coon cross ready for a home where she can cuddle with the family.
She loves cuddling so much that when a volunteer was at the shelter Thursday evening, Shaaze walked from the top of one of the kennels right onto the shelter volunteer’s shoulders and refused to be put down the rest of the time the volunteer was there.
She is reported to be only six months old, but she is a very mellow cat, with just a bit of kitten spunk in there. She would love to find a home with her buddy Paloma (who is also at the shelter), but she is more concerned about finding a home where she’ll be showered with affection.
Call Liz at (505) 377-5389 for more information about this wonderful cat.
The Shelter, 226 East Road, (505) 662-8179, has a large selection of adoptable pets. Be aware that the Los Alamos Animal Shelter is NOT a no-kill shelter … it does have a nice selection of animals, but there is currently not room for them all. Check out the Petfinder page for photos and to learn more about the adoptable pets at http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/friendsoftheshelter.html.
All adoptable pets are micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Check out the Shelter’s new website at www.lafos.org, for information about volunteering, adopting and donating, read up on some favorite animals and learn more about special needs animals and cats and dogs in foster care.
NEW SHELTER HOURS: The LAC Shelter is open noon to 6 p.m. Monday thru Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekends.
