SHELTER News:

Maddie is an 11-year-old, declawed cat who was surrendered when her owner’s health prevented her from keeping her.

Maddie has some Abysinnian in her, because she has a gorgeous red tint to her coat and she absolutely loves to be petted, just be careful because she starts drooling when she’s happy. She would make a wonderful companion to someone looking for a mature, social cat.

The Los Alamos Animal Shelter, 226 East Road, 505.662.8179, has a great selection of adoptable pets; see the Petfinder website for photos here. For information about volunteering, adopting and donating and learning more about special needs animals and cats and dogs in foster care, visit www.lafos.org.

All adoptable pets are micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and have up-to-date on vaccinations. Shelter hours are noon to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., weekends.
