Gandalf the white cat. Courtesy/FOS
If you remember the white cat whose owner we were looking for a couple of weeks ago, here he is with a remake. We named him Gandalf. The county and Friends of the Shelter collaborated to take care of any outstanding veterinary issues.
This is now a plush, contented cat of about nine years. Gandalf is polite and friendly with adults and very gentle children. He seems to tolerate the gentle, respectful cats in the cat room. He has yet to share with us his opinion about dogs.
The Los Alamos Animal Shelter, 226 East Road, 505.662.8179, has a great selection of adoptable pets; see the Petfinder website for photos here. For information about volunteering, adopting and donating and learning more about special needs animals and cats and dogs in foster care, visit www.lafos.org.
All adoptable pets are micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and have up-to-date on vaccinations. Shelter Hours are noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., weekends.
