Pet of the Week: ChuChu the Dog

ChuChu is a handsome three-year-old male ridgeback/visla mix in the running for the “most loyal dog” award. When he bonds with a new owner, he will be your best friend and is looking for someone to make the same commitment to him.

He is a snuggler and loves to go walking, often taking along one of his favorite toys. He enjoys playtime with some dogs. ChuChu is gentle with children. He does request a secure fenced yard. There is a special adoption process for Chuchu, so call 505.433.8617, 505.412.3451 or 505.232.3624 for a personal introduction.

Friends of the Shelter will hold a mobile adoption from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1 at Smith’s Food and Drugs Center in Los Alamos. All adoptable pets are micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and up-to-date on vaccinations.

The Los Alamos Animal Shelter, 226 East Road, 505.662.8179, has a great selection of adoptable pets – see the Petfinder website for photos here. For information about volunteering, adopting and donating, and learning more about special needs animals and cats and dogs in foster care, visit
