Pet of the Week: Carter the Dog

SHELTER News:

Carter is a small, 13 year old, honey-colored corgi/heeler mix dog that came to the shelter when his family moved. He’s a little confused as to why he is at the shelter after living with a family for so long, and he’s keeping his paws crossed that a new family will come give him the love he deserves.

This sweet guy is housebroken and knows basic commands. He is very mellow and would be a great companion for someone looking for an older dog that doesn’t require a whole lot of exercise. He’ll be sure to squeeze in another 13 years of affection into whatever time he has left with you.

The Los Alamos Animal Shelter, 226 East Road, 505.662.8179, has a great selection of adoptable pets – see the Petfinder website for photos here. For information about volunteering, adopting and donating, and learning more about special needs animals and cats and dogs in foster care, visit www.lafos.org.

All adoptable pets are micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Shelter Hours: Noon-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekends.
