Pet Of The Week: Buttercream The Cat

SHELTER News:

Buttercream is a light orange tabby with golden eyes. He is a 3-year-old neutered male.

Although he does not want to be picked up and held, he wants everyone to pet him. He has assumed the role of Cat Room Greeter. Buttercream gets along with most of the other shelter cats most of the time.

Sometimes his very active play annoys an introverted cat. He would like an indoor home with adults, gentle children, tolerant cats and maybe a gentle dog.

The Los Alamos Animal Shelter, 226 East Road, 505.662.8179, has a great selection of adoptable pets; see the Petfinder website for photos here. All adoptable pets are micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and have up-to-date on vaccinations.

For information about volunteering, adopting and donating and learning more about special needs animals and cats and dogs in foster care, visit www.lafos.org.

Shelter hours are noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 3 p.m. Sundays.
