INSANITY® Comes to YMCA

The Family YMCA is now offering INSANITY® classes!

INSANITY® is a revolutionary cardio-based total body conditioning program based on the principles of MAX interval training. Each workout is packed with plyometric drills on top of nonstop intervals of strength, power, resistance, and ab and core training moves.

Each INSANITY workout keeps you constantly challenged as you alternate between aerobic and anaerobic intervals performed at your MAX! These classes are taught by Insanity-certified instructors and are available 9-9:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 5:30-6 p.m.

Los Alamos Juvenile Justice Advisory Board and Los Alamos County Social Services Department announces the first meeting of the Suicide Awareness and Prevention Working Group meeting.

The meeting will take place 2-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at the new Municipal Building, in the large conference room on the third floor (room 330.)

The goal is to form a working group of experts, representatives of agencies and other entities who will work together to formulate and implement a multi-pronged approach of evidence based and best practice programs that will help bring about long term

Dr. Bradley Presents 'Elk Mountain and the Centennial Peaks' 7:30 p.m. Today at Geological Society

The Los Alamos Geological Society will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 21 at the Christian Church, 92 East Road.

The speaker is Dr. Paul Bradley. He will provide a talk entitled "Elk Mountain and the Centennial Peaks." Colorado's highest 100 peaks are known as the Centennial Peaks. Dr. Bradley will provide an overview of his 2011 and 2012 climbs of four of these peaks located in the Elk Range.

Dr. Bradley received a BS and MS from Texas A&M in chemical engineering and physics. He received a PhD in Astronomy from University of Texas at Austin.

Isaac Hayden Memorial Service 3:30 p.m. Wednesday

The Los Alamos High School Student Council is holding a remembrance service for Isaac Hayden at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 at the memorial garden at the high school.

"Isaac was a sophomore at LAHS who died back in March," Student Body President-Elect Soumyo Lahiri-Gupta said. "The Los Alamos High School Student Council felt it right to have a remembrance service for Isaac at our memorial garden in order to make sure he is not ever forgotten at our school."

The LAHS Student Council invites the public to attend this service.
