PEEC: Watch ‘Spaceballs’ Thursday

PEEC News:

Watch the cult classic movie “Spaceballs” Thursday, Aug. 9, in the Los Alamos Nature Center’s planetarium.

This event is part of the nature center’s summer movie and beer night series “Suds & Shows.” Doors will open and beer and wine will be available from Pajarito Brewpub at a cash bar starting at 6 p.m. The movie will start in the planetarium at 7 p.m.

Bring a picnic dinner, buy drinks and enjoy spending time at the nature center before the movie. Movie tickets are $5 per person and drinks will be available for purchase.

“Spaceballs” is a 1987 comic sci-fi film by Mel Brooks. It parodies the original “Star Wars” trilogy as well as other popular science fiction franchises like “Star Trek,” “Alien” and “Planet of the Apes.”

“Spaceballs” is the second-to-last film in the nature center’s Suds & Shows summer movie night series. The final movie will be “Top Gun” on Aug. 23. Pajarito Brewpub will be at each movie serving drinks.

Because there is limited seating in the planetarium, please purchase your tickets in advance. Tickets may be purchased by visiting or calling the Los Alamos Nature Center at 505.662.0460.
