PEEC Summer Family Evenings Begin Wednesday June 7

PEEC News:

With summer approaching, PEEC announces the schedule for Summer Family Evenings (SFE).

SFEs take place Wednesdays in June and July at Los Alamos Nature Center. They start at 6 p.m. and provide fun for the whole family. SFEs are free for PEEC member families and $5 for non-member families and admission is paid at the door.

Thanks to the Del Norte LOV Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Del Norte Credit Union, for sponsoring Summer Family Evenings in 2023.

Check out what PEEC has scheduled for June:

  • June 7, Learn How to Lure a Fairy! During this FREE SFE event, using natural, recycled, and purchased materials, create fairy dwellings with a battery-powered light to place in your home garden. Join Los Alamos Libraries staff for fairy stories, magic and happiness.
  • June 14, see Rattlesnakes and other reptiles up close! Join Bob and Lorraine Myers, Director and Head Curator of the Rattlesnake Museum in Albuquerque. Get a chance to see rattlesnakes and other animals from the museum up close, address phobias and misinformation about predators and more.
  • June 21, celebrate the Summer Solstice with PEEC! Celebrate the longest day of the year with PEEC’s Planetarium Manager, Elizabeth Watts. Activities will include building and racing solar cars, a planetarium movie and more!
  • June 28, join the Audubon Society to learn more about local Birds. Practice with microscopes and binoculars, get an up-close look at feathers and talons and speak to local bird experts.
