PEEC: Quilting Nature Class With Terry Foxx And Katy Korkos July 24

Anyone who loves nature and fabric will love the quilting nature workshop by Terry Foxx and Katy Korkos, 1-4 p.m., Sunday, July 24.
 
Foxx and Korkos will reveal tricks of the trade for using fabric to depict the beauty of wildflowers. This unique event is at the Los Alamos Nature Center. Advance registration is requested, and space is limited.
 
This workshop will cover the basics of understanding and observing nature as well as elements of fabric, creating a foundation for making a wildflower portrait and everything one needs to know to complete a wildflower portrait.
 
Foxx, an ecologist, loves to quilt and has had extensive experience with local plants and animals; Korkos, a master quilter, brings extensive experience in quilting and a love of nature including birds to this two-session class. She has been featured in Quilting Arts Magazine and has displayed her quilts in the Fuller Lodge Art Center and other locations. Foxx has illustrated and written books on plants and recently published Volume 1 of the Plants of the Jemez Mountains, Trees, Shrubs, Vines, Ferns and Horsetails. 
 
This workshop is $40. Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) members can participate in the workshop for a discounted rate of $32. Advance registration is required.
