PEEC Hike up Pajarito Canyon Saturday

PEEC News:

Community members are invited to join Paul Arendt at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, as he leads a pleasant, intermediate level hike up Pajarito Canyon for PEEC.

The 2.5 hour, three mile hike will be suitable for families, so all ages are encouraged to join. Friendly dogs are welcome. Hikers will meet at the trailhead parking area on West Jemez Road, which is 0.5 miles south of the intersection with Camp May Road..

“It’s really a pleasant and mild hike – good for families,” Arendt said. “I’ll also point out other trails that branch off of this loop to the attendees, so that they can explore them on subsequent outings.”

Arendt is an avid hiker and he enjoys it, not only for its therapeutic benefits, but also as a great way to meet some very enjoyable people, he said.

The hike is free, however advance registration is required. To register, visit www.pajaritoeec.org, email programs@pajaritoeec.org or call (505) 662-0460.
