The community is invited to the Los Alamos Nature Center to participate for hands-on activities from the Explora! Science Center at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 20.
This event is part of the Pajarito Environmental Education Center’s Summer Family Evenings series, which is sponsored by Del Norte Credit Union.
This Summer Family Evening event is a great way for people of all ages to delve hands-firsts into nature, science, and more. Explora! is a hands-on museum based in Albuquerque and staff will bring their signature style of interactive learning up to Los Alamos.
Over the course of the summer, a variety of organizations, animals and more will visit the nature center on Wednesday evenings in June and July (except July 4) for Summer Family Evenings.
Here are the upcoming Summer Family Evenings events:

  • June 27 — Meet raptors from the New Mexico Wildlife Center
  • July 11 — ScienceFest: Learn about DNA barcoding with Los Alamos Makerspace
  • July 18 — Learn about how small farms care for goats and what goats need to live happily. Meet a variety of goats, both big and small!
  • July 25 — The Harrell House of Natural Oddities will bring an amazing selection of live critters like tarantulas, scorpions, centipedes, crabs and more!
Hear amazing facts and ask questions about these unusual animals.
