PEEC: Free Night Sky Photography Lesson

PEEC News:

Peter LaDelfe will give a free talk at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20 at the Los Alamos Nature Center at 2600 Canyon Road where he will reveal how to capture the elegance of the night sky with each participant’s camera.

The lesson will focus on producing images of the Milky Way with illuminated foreground features.

LaDelfe will cover the following topics:

  • how to determine the optimum times and locations;
  • selection of equipment;
  • settings and procedure for image capture;
  • light painting of foreground; and
  • post-processing.

LaDelfe is an advanced amateur photographer, having practiced extensively for the last 20 years after a prior 20 years of dabbling. He specializes in images of the Milky Way Galactic Center with illuminated foreground features.
