PEEC News:

The Los Alamos Nature Center Planetarium has a special show about our local galaxies at 7 p.m. Jan. 19 and a full-dome film Dark Matter Mystery scree ning at 2 p.m. Jan. 20. These shows are organized by the Pajarito Environmental Education Education Center (PEEC).

The full-dome film Dark Matter Mystery explo res our understanding of dark matter. This captivating movie answers questions such as: What do astronomers mean when they say 27% of the observable universe is made of dark matter, and only 5% is the visible matter that we can see? What evidence is there for this “dark matter,” and what properties does it have? What experiments are currently trying to detect dark matter, and of what might it be composed?
