PEEC News:

The free backyard composting program from Los Alamos County Environmental Services, Pajarito Environmental Education Center, Los Alamos Zero Waste Team, and Keep New Mexico True has been so popular that all of the compost bins were spoken for, when Enterprise Bank & Trust’s Los Alamos Region President Liddie Martinez reached out to see if the bank could help.

Thanks to Enterprise Banks’ generosity, 40 additional households in Los Alamos will be able to begin backyard composting with lots of support and completely free supplies. 

Registrants receive:

  • Free-of-cost a kitchen compost container to collect food scraps;
  • Compost tumbler for their backyard;
  • Brochure to answer the most common questions about composting; and
  • Magnets with quick tips for composting and food waste prevention.
