Pearce: Post-Election Thank You From RPNM

By STEVE PEARCE
RPNM Chairman

RPNM would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the volunteers, Poll Challengers, county officers, candidates and others for their hard work during this past election.

Your tireless efforts showed great dedication and drive, and we thank you. Many worked countess hours around the clock throughout the state.

In the legislative races:

  • Republicans gained two NM House seats;
  • We won three new seats but lost one due to the malicious Democratic gerrymandering of that district, a seat held by Jane Powdrell-Culbert; and
  • Republicans held on to all the other House seats, despite the redistricting changes by Democrats to stop GOP gains in the Roundhouse. In all, the Democrat gerrymandering to eliminate Republicans in the House of Representatives failed.

The governor’s race was much closer than the Albuquerque Journal had predicted.

In the 3rd Congressional District race, Alexis Martinez Johnson received 42% of the vote, much better than many expected.

In CD-2, Brian Egolf, the Democrat Speaker of the House, designed a seat that would be impossible for Yvette Herrell to win. That race is still too close to call.

Our War Room during the election ran smoothly as our Election Integrity Team across the state and RPNM attorneys at RPNM Headquarters quickly resolved more than 120 complaints regarding election-related issues. The RPNM attorneys were diligent and on duty ready to handle such complaints.

RPNM is also proud of the diversity of our candidates in 2022. This diversity has become a hallmark of the Party.

More than 2,000 volunteers this election cycle signed on to our campaign services to help candidates in their campaigns. The teamwork and dedication were extraordinary.

2024 is just around the corner, and RPNM will use our infrastructure that we’ve built to empower our future candidates and further strengthen our organization.

It’s time to start.

Our Republican Party will forge ahead on a unified front. RPNM looks forward to strong elections in 2023 and 2024.

Thank you again for your hard work and your faith in our Party and its great mission.
