Parks & Recreation Board Presents Recommendations On Tennis Courts Plan

Parks and Recreation Board Chair Melanee Hand presents the board’s recommendation regarding the local tennis courts to Los Alamos County Council Tuesday night in Council Chambers. Council requested in January the board evaluate issues and form recommendations for the following items: a location for a tennis court facility, the appropriate number of courts and appropriate community support. As a result, the board  recommended the County maximize use of the tennis facilities for current and future needs while making the most of the present courts and sites through multiple uses including re-purposing efforts. Additionally, the board proposed discussion for an eight court tennis complex to be added to the Fiscal Year 2019 work plan.  The recommendation was just presented to council, no action was taken on it.
