Pajarito Trail Fest Runs This Weekend

Kick into Fall with the 6th annual Pajarito Trail Fest, which is happening Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 22 and 23 at Pajarito Mountain Ski Area, with 10 Km and 15 Mile trail runs scheduled for Saturday and a Dirty Du Trail Duathlon Sunday.

Trail Runs start at 9 a.m. Saturday. The event also will feature kids’ fun runs with a Toddler 100-yard dash starting at 11:30 a.m. and Big Kid Challenge, which includes run up/down on marked course on Beginner Slopes.

Dirty Du Duathon starts at 10 a.m. Sunday and includes a 4.5 km run, 14 km bike ride and another 4.5 km run.

Participants can compete in both days’ events in Aspen Blast.

Race day registration will be available for an additional fee. Registration for 10k is $35, the 15 M and Duathlon is $40 and the Aspen Blast is $60.

Race day registration is an additional $10 for each event. Suggested donation for the kids’ runs is $5. All finishers will get a finisher award and participants who register online will be eligible for a raffle.

All proceeds from the event will directly benefit local non-profit organizations that support outdoor education and active lifestyle: Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC), Southwest Nordic Club, Triatomics and Pajarito Mountain.
