SKI News:

Get those skis and snowboards ready because Pajarito Mountain Ski Area is kicking off ski season Saturday!

Pajarito’s new Magic Carpet and the Beginner Lift  will open at 9 a.m. with access to beginner terrain, including the trails Mushroom, Run Out to Zero Road East, and the Beginner’s area.

“Even though we had to delay our opening due to unseasonably warm and dry weather, our mountain crews were able to take advantage of colder temperatures and make sufficient snow for our opening day.” said Tom Long, general manager of Pajarito Mountain. “With snow in the forecast this week, everyone at Pajarito is excited to get ski season started on Saturday!”

Discounted lift tickets are available at the Ticket Office. Lift tickets are $24 for all skiers and snowboarders. Pajarito will be open daily through Sunday, Jan. 7, during the holiday season. For updates on operating dates beyond Jan. 7, visit Pajarito’s website.

When the lifts are turning, the Café will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for breakfast, lunch and snacks, the rental shop is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Ski and Ride School is available for lessons.

Pajarito is launching a new website which will be live Thursday. The new site provides easier navigation, a better online buying experience, enhanced imagery and snow report, and additional information about the mountain.
