DHF Technical Products Bringing Up to 50 Jobs to Rio Rancho

SANTA FE—Gov. Susana Martinez today welcomed DHF Technical Products (DHF) to New Mexico from California, bringing up to 50 new jobs with an average salary of nearly $50,000 to Rio Rancho.
DHF cites New Mexico’s improved tax competitiveness and business friendly environment among reasons for the move from California to New Mexico. DHF will create 35 new jobs immediately, and up to 50 new jobs all together, in Rio Rancho.

Teen Center participants traveled to the Espanola Valley Humane Society Feb. 6, as part of a new volunteering program. The teens had the opportunity to help socialize the shelter animals through play and gentle interactions as well as participate in various other tasks at the Shelter.

Watershed Rx Burn Three Miles East/Northeast of Santa Fe Underway

Fire managers are burning 35 acres of slash piles today in the Santa Fe watershed, approximately three miles east/northeast of Santa Fe.
Ignition started at 9:30 this morning and operations are going well. Eighteen firefighters are on site to assist with the burn and to monitor smoke. The purpose of this prescribed fire is to reduce forest fuels, enhance watershed protection and promote forest health.
Smoke will be visible from Santa Fe, Tesuque, Highway I-25, as well as U.S. 84/285. Smoke impacts may occur in the upper Canyon Road area this evening.
