PEEC News:
One of the best ways to begin bird watching is by looking for the birds seen and heard every day.
To help beginning birders recognize some of the species living in Los Alamos, long-time Los Alamos resident and bird watcher Joe Fitzgibbon is leading a three-mile hike at 7 a.m. Sunday, July 10.
Adults and children who can hike quietly are welcome to attend. This is the perfect opportunity to spot, identify and admire local species of birds. Potential sightings may include white-throated swifts, red-tailed hawks and sapsuckers.

When the Los Alamos National Laboratory management and operating contract goes up for bid in 2018, one of the most interested and potentially vulnerable groups is a core of ten thousand LANL employees.
While they are routinely patronized and flattered and sincerely thanked in public by upper level managers as the heart and soul of the enterprise, they are also usually the people with the least say about what Read More

Smart Design With Suzette: Decorating For The Fourth
Patriotic flower pots and jars. Courtesy photo
By SUZETTE FOXCan you believe we are mid-summer already? It’s our country’s birthday and time to celebrate! My family loves fireworks. We are blessed enough to watch them from our deck, so the day will be filled with good eats – ribs on the barbeque, lawn games, probably even a trip to the pool.
It doesn’t take much to decorate for Independence Day. You can decorate with food, flowers, and lawn decorations. Follow these guidelines for a red, white and blue, patriotic celebration.

Letter To The Editor: Fiscal Frugality And County Council — Support Your Local Sheriff
