County Launches Telephone Survey Friday

COUNTY News:

During the next few weeks, residents in Los Alamos County may be receiving a phone call asking for their feedback on County government.

The County has been regularly conducting these citizen satisfaction surveys every other year since 1996. The purpose of the citizen survey is to gather public opinion on a variety of subjects, including satisfaction with County services and programs. Whenever possible, the County uses the information for reporting on performance measures for service improvements.

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Environment Department’s Hazardous Waste Bureau will host an Open House in Los Alamos to present an overview of their proposed changes to the Draft Consent Order governing legacy clean-up at Los Alamos National Laboratory and to hear citizen and stakeholder input, address concerns, and answer questions.

The Los Alamos High School girls golf team closed out their regular season Tuesday at the Los Alamos Golf Course with a team score of 388. That team score was their fourth qualifying score of the season.

New Mexico State Police will conduct Sobriety Checkpoints, Saturation Patrols, and Registration, Insurance and Drivers’ License Checkpoints in all New Mexico counties during the month of May 2016.
 
Our efforts continue to show a significant reduction in alcohol related fatalities. This is attributed to the continued media attention and intensive advertising. These checkpoints are helping to change society’s attitude about drinking and driving.

New Awards For Advanced Nuclear Energy Development
