New Hours, Services At Local Public Health Office

NMDOH News:

 

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health has announced that it is changing the hours of operation and services provided at the Los Alamos Public Health Office due to staffing changes.

 

These changes are effective immediately.

 

The clinic at 1183 Diamond Dr. # D in Los Alamos, will open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday (closed noon – 1 p.m.), and closed Mondays.

 

Services provided at this clinic will now include Children’s Medical Services (children and youth with special health care needs), and Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) supplemental Read More

LAHS Hosts 4th Annual Career Fair Oct. 19

LAHS News:

Los Alamos High School will host its 4th Annual Career Fair noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19 in the A-wing lobby of the school.

More than 25 Los Alamos community members representing a variety of careers have committed to attend this year’s event, with more expected to sign up.

There also will be mock interview sessions and resume reviews. Students can enter drawings for prizes for attending and meeting with the career representatives. In addition, the LAHS food service will be selling lunch items prior to the start of the Career Fair.

NPS: Prescribed Burns Begin Next Week

JEMEZ SPRINGS  Valles Caldera National Preserve will initiate prescribed burn projects beginning early next week, dependent upon suitable weather and fuel conditions.

FBI: Three Arrested In Red River Bank Robbery

Three people have been arrested by the FBI in connection with the Oct. 6 robbery of Peoples Bank in Red River.
 
Troy Montoya, 23, of Espanola; Jennifer Marissa Miera, 22, of El Rito and Shawn Michael Goodrum, Jr., 19, of Questa are scheduled to appear Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque.
 
The Red River Marshals Office and Taos County Sheriff’s Office arrested Montoya and Miera Monday and turned them over Tuesday to the FBI.
 
The public is reminded that all defendants are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Police cited the driver of this GM Emulsion LLC truck from Santa Fe for following too close after it ran into the back of a car and pushed it into the back of another car around 5 p.m. Thursday on Trinity Drive. SANTA FE  Based on smoke impacts to the City of Santa Fe and data on air quality, the Santa Fe National Forest decided today to conclude the prescribed burn in the Santa Fe Municipal Watershed.

The election on Question 1 (Sheriff elimination) will not be stopped and the result will be valid. A careful reading of the complaint for declaratory judgment and injunction filed against the county and the “Los Alamos Board of Commissioners (sic)” reveals it is full of technical defects and substantive omissions and errors.
 
It displays an appalling lack of information about the constitutional and statutory background of Los Alamos County, its charter, the institution of sheriff and our police department.
