Chiefs Voice Support For Battle Of Badges Blood Drive

In a joint statement today, Los Alamos Police Chief Dino Sgambellone and Fire Chief Troy Hughes encouraged the community to support the 2nd Annual Battle of the Badges blood drive.

The drive is at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Hall, 3700 Canyon Road in Los Alamos:

  • Noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3; and
  • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4.

Missoula Children’s Theater: ‘Aladdin’ Auditions Aug. 7

LAAC News: 

Los Alamos Arts Council (LAAC) and Missoula Children’s Theatre will hold auditions for “Aladdin” 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Aug. 7 at Crossroads Bible Church. Those auditioning should arrive at 9:30 a.m. to register and stay for the full two hours.

Those who are selected for a part need to stay after the auditions for their first rehearsal, which is 12:30-2:30 p.m. There is no cost to audition but there is a $35 fee to participate in the production.

Reading Richard Nebel’s attack on the idea of a functional sheriff’s office left me wondering two things (link). One, whether discourse in Los Alamos has been reduced to ad hominem attacks and two, whether Mr. Nebel has any sense of history.

Summit Garden Club Meets Aug. 7

The Summit Garden Club next meeting is 1:30 p.m., Monday Aug. 7, at the home of Susan Larocque, 479 Ridgecrest, White Rock.
 
The meeting will be on Herbs and include members providing a potluck of different foods that include herbs. Speaker will be Mike Mason, chef at the White Rock Senior Center who will give a short presentation on cooking with herbs.
