Pace Race Series Begins 40th Season

The Atomic City Road Runners pace race season opened Tuesday on the Canyon Rim Trail with 1, 1.5, 2 and 3 mile distances available.
 
Elizabeth Turner and Amanda Mercer were the top predictors at 35 seconds off their predicted time as well as fastest female three mile finishers. 
 
Tom Sandford had a 43 second differential and Mary Snow and David Kratzer came in at 53 seconds off.
 
Bob Weeks was the top one mile finisher at 13:24 followed by Georgia Pedicini at 14:16. 
 
Linda Vance with a time of 16:27 was the top 1.5 mile finisher. Zach Leonard came in first in the two mile with a 19:50 time and Ted Romero was tops in the three mile with 19:42.
 
Next week’s run will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 9 near the junction of Main Hill Road and N.M. 4 on the road to the Sewage Treatment Plant in lower Bayo Canyon.
 
One and three mile courses will be available.
