The owner of the Subway restaurant on Central Avenue told the Los Alamos Daily Post Tuesday afternoon that he will open for business in late January.

Larry Singh explained that renovation and remodeling underway since early summer has been extensive in the former Don Taylor Photography space just east of 15th Street.

“We are making the restaurant very nice with higher upgrades,” Singh said.

His first Subway restaurant in Los Alamos was across the street in the space facing Iris Street at the rear of the former Otowi Book Store. Singh closed that operation early last summer and began renovating and remodeling the more visible location on Central Avenue.

“The new restaurant will have seating for 62 people,” he said. “We will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and be open seven days a week.”

The restaurant was scheduled to open in September but Singh said the higher upgrades have accounted for the delay.
