Over Crowded Conditions At Santa Fe Animal Shelter Creates $5 Adoptions This Spring

SFAS News:

The Spring into Love Adoption Event has begun at the Santa Fe Animal Shelter, with all adult dogs and cats now at $5 to adopt and puppies and kittens at $25 through Sunday, May 1, 2022!

Due to overcapacity issues already at the shelter, and to make room for the busy summer season, the Santa Fe Animal Shelter is bringing back the “Spring Into Love” promotion, but now with the lowest adoption rates yet. The promotion aims to find as many homes as possible for the 200 animals currently at the shelter.

“We have a lot of great animals, all sizes, breeds and ages, who are looking for their second chance in life,” said Murad Kirdar, spokesperson for the shelter. “We hope the Spring into Love promotion will bring the community out to meet one of these lovebugs and take them home.”

All the animals adopted from the shelter are spayed or neutered, microchipped, provided age-appropriate vaccinations, and includes a bag of food. The “Spring into Love” special excludes shelter heroes and ends Sunday, May 1, 2022.

All potential adopters will be required to complete an adoption survey and counseling, as per the shelter’s usual adoption process. For more information or to see available animals, visit SFHumanesociety.org.
