OLW News:

Our Lady of the Woods (OLW) will celebrate Beltane with a ritual, feast, and Maypole dance at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27.

The Beltane sabbat marks the beginning of the summer for the Celts. For many England towns, the May pole remained stationed at the town center, becoming a gathering place for the whole season, which was a sort of on-going block party.

OLW hopes to recreate some of those good times at this celebration. The pot luck feast will give way to songs, dance and stories. Dress festively and bring drums and musical instruments.

FYI for the old-timers: In previous years we used to hold this event at North Mesa Park but starting in 2012, due to park restrictions, we changed the location to the grove in front of the Unitarian Church.
