On The Job For 20 Years In White Rock: Jack Clifford

On the job in White Rock Tuesday is Jack Clifford snapping a shot of the latest message on the White Rock rock at the corner of N.M. 4 and Rover Boulevard. Clifford, 92 years young and a resident of Los Alamos since arriving in 1948 to work at Los Alamos National Laboratory, considers himself a bit of a historian of the iconic rock at the entrance to White Rock. Clifford has been taking pictures of the painted rock for the last 20 years, sometimes numerous times a day with each message change. Clifford remembers only one message that stayed on the rock for an entire week, which was when White Rock celebrated its 50th Anniversary. Clifford also can be seen at the White Rock Senior Center where he has volunteered for the last 25 years. To chat with Clifford, call 505.672.9319. #worklosalamos, #wheredscoveriesaremade.
