WILMA IRENE BECK Nov. 7, 1930 – Aug. 19, 2021

Wilma Irene Beck was born to loving parents in Speedway, Indiana Nov. 7, 1930. It was there that she grew up with her younger sister Deloris. They were proud of their father Floyd Beck and mother Thelma, who owned Beck’s Drug Store, where Floyd was a pharmacist.

Growing up in Speedway, home of the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Wilma, or “Willie” as she was called by her friends, had a love for fine cars. Wilma often drove the streets of Speedway in the Beck’s Drug Store car.

Wilma earned a BA degree from Butler University in Indiana. She later met her first husband, Paul Aljinovich and they had one son, Jay. Wilma, Paul and Jay moved in 1958 from Speedway to Wheatridge, Colorado, where Paul was from, when Jay was two. Wilma took a job as an office manager for a CPA firm in Denver. She remained in the Denver area until Paul’s passing in 1982.

Wilma then moved to White Rock, NM to be closer to her sister Deloris and her family. It was there that she gained employment at the Los Alamos National Laboratory and met her second husband, Lynn Stout. They were married in 1987. Lynn and Willie lived happily in White Rock, NM until their retirement from  LANL and decided to move to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2003 to live their retirement years. Lynn and Willie enjoyed world travels and cruises and dancing.

After Lynn Stout’s passing in 2017, Wilma was moved to Fort Collins, Colorado to be near her son, Jay and his family. “Willie” Stout loved traveling, dining out, visits with family, collecting jewelry and Teddy bears. She had an extensive Teddy bear collection and many of them had names. Wilma also had an appreciation for fashion and was a snappy dresser. Wilma passed peacefully in her sleep at Brookdale Senior Living in Fort Collins. She will be missed.

Wilma is survived by her son, Jay Allenson, and his wife Deb of LaPorte, and her only grandchild, Ryeland George Paul Allenson, of Denver. Wilma also leaves a nephew, Robert Paas of Manchester, NH and three nieces, Ingrid Simmonds of Fort Worth, TX, Lisa Jayne Paas Buchanan of Campbell, TX and Laura Paas Murphy of Melbourne, FL and their families.
