WALLACE “WALLY” REID WEIR Feb. 21, 1933 – March 14, 2019

Wallace “Wally” Reid Weir, age 86, of Los Alamos, NM, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2019.

Wally was born on February 21, 1933, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Reid William and Lois Weir. He married his wife of more than 60 years, Joyce Anne Campfield, on November 21, 1958, in Fontana, California.

When Wally was 15, he lied about his age and joined the Santa Fe Railroad. Starting out as part of the “Bridge and Building” crew, he worked his way up to Lineman. When he left the railroad, he tried his hand at being an auto mechanic, successfully owning two Union 76 stations in California. In the early 70s, he brought his family to visit friends in Los Alamos, where he immediately fell in love with the town and the mountains. He got a job with Zia Co. as an electrician and later started his own electrical business in town.

He became a Jehovah’s Witness in 1975, and served his god Jehovah faithfully until his death.

Wally is survived by his beloved wife Joyce, his 4 children, Wayne (wife Suzie), Larry (wife Connie), Shannan (husband Darin), and Bradley “Dusty” (wife Daphne), his 8 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family asks that any Memorial contributions be made to your choice of Hospice care in Wally’s name.

The family of Wally Weir has entrusted his care to the Rivera Family Funeral Home of Los Alamos, 1627 A Central Av, Los Alamos, NM 87544 (505) 663-6880 www.riverafamilyfuneralhome.com.
