Scott Alan Irving Nov. 27, 1969-March 23, 2013
Scott Alan Irving (aka Dreddlokk Scott) was born Nov. 27, 1969, Thanksgiving Day, at Williams AFB in Mesa, Ariz.
Scott passed away March 23, 2013, due to complications from an asthma attack.
He was an exceptional athlete who played tennis and soccer in high school in Colorado Springs and was an avid skier.
Scott even played tennis with then-governor Gary Johnson.
He graduated from Los Alamos High School in 1987 and from NMSU in Business Administration and Hotel Management in 1994.
Scott worked at the Hill Diner, the ski hill, Sombrillo, the El Dorado Hotel, and most recently Kenny’s BBQ. He was a licensed bartender and had a commercial driver’s license.
Scott dearly loved people, music, and animals (from tarantulas to Rottweilers.) He also played bass in many different bands.
Scott is survived by his mother, Sue Ellen Kelly; his stepfather, the Reverend Canon Dr. Colin P. Kelly, III; his brother, Todd Irving; his son, Keegan; his fiancée, Terrie White; her son, Brandon; and numerous relatives in Arizona and Indiana. Scott will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service and reception was held at Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church April 6 followed by a benefit in memory of Scott at De Colores.
